Welcome to Mellow's Log Cabin. This blog's purpose is to supply information on a diversity of American southern music - ranging from country, blues, old-time and folk to R&B, rock'n'roll and rockabilly. I regularly present my research results about artists, labels, shows and also give guest writers a chance to publish their texts here on occasion.

• Jack Turner recordings available here.
• Update on Les Randall acetate.

Some artists left us here on earth recently. They are:

  • Cal Smith, country music hit maker, died at the age of 81 in Branson, Missouri on October 11, 2013.
  • Ramblin' Tommy Scott, who led the last real medicine show, died already on September 13, 2013, due to injuries from a car accident. He was 95 years old.
  • Johnnie White passed away on October 4, 2013, in Los Angeles. White and his Sons of the West performed all over South Dakota/Illinois areas and were featured performers on WNAX's Missouri Valley Barn Dance. White later owned the Little Nashville Club in North Hollywood, California.
