Welcome to Mellow's Log Cabin. This blog's purpose is to supply information on a diversity of American southern music - ranging from country, blues, old-time and folk to R&B, rock'n'roll and rockabilly. I regularly present my research results about artists, labels, shows and also give guest writers a chance to publish their texts here on occasion.

Grand Ole Opry moves

Due to heavy raining in the last days the Cumberland River flooded Nashville, Tennessee. The Grand Ole Opry Entertainment Complex as well as parts of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum are damaged, so the shows set up for this week move to other Nashville venues in order to keep the show going. The saturday night performance will be held at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, which was the home of the Opry for a long time. Such stars as Roy Acuff, Pee Wee King, Bill Monroe, Ernest Tubb and others played there.
