Welcome to Mellow's Log Cabin. This blog's purpose is to supply information on a diversity of American southern music - ranging from country, blues, old-time and folk to R&B, rock'n'roll and rockabilly. I regularly present my research results about artists, labels, shows and also give guest writers a chance to publish their texts here on occasion.

Judge Sturdy's Orchestra day

Don't know a thing about this strange string band. They recorded for Victor in 1925 some quite good songs, mostly barn dance tunes with calls. But they are still a mystery to me. Go to the "Music You (Possibly) Won't Hear Anyplace Else" blog to get more of them.

Judge Sturdy`s outfit only recorded four songs. I`ve never found any information on them. Keep up the good work here!!
