Carl Smith RIP

Country music star Carl Smith died on Saturday, January 16. He was 82 years old.

Smith started his career back in the late 1940s and got a recording contract with Columbia in 1950. During the 1950s, he was one of the most succesful country music artists with such hits as "Hey Joe", "Let Old Mother Nature Have Her Way", "Loose Talk", "Back Up Buddy" among others. His first wife was June Carter, with whom he had a daughter, Carlene Carter, and later married singer Goldie Hill (who died in 2005). Smith was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

One more legend is gone...
