Welcome to Mellow's Log Cabin. This blog's purpose is to supply information on a diversity of American southern music - ranging from country, blues, old-time and folk to R&B, rock'n'roll and rockabilly. I regularly present my research results about artists, labels, shows and also give guest writers a chance to publish their texts here on occasion.

Red Fox Chasers on CD

The Tompkins Square label will release a two CD set by the Red Fox Chasers entitled "I'm Going Down to North Carolina". The disc is going to be out in stores on August 18 and features the complete recorded works of the Chasers for the first time.

The songs were digitally remastered by Christopher King and the liner notes come from nobody else than Kinney Rorrer, Charlie Poole biograph and a descendant of fiddler Posey Rorer. Really one of the best releases of the year, a disc worth to buy!

Great to see this CD on the market. Guess this comes along with a fine booklet.
